Amar Sehgal, Karthik Bhagavatula and Praneel Bhagavatula received resolutions from state Rep. Ed Thompson (R-Texas) and the House of Representatives for their work creating masks using 3D printing.

Sehgal and the Bhagavautla brothers, also known as the Three Masketeers, started their project after learning that hospitals were having difficulty maintaining an adequate supply of personal protective equipment. They were also concerned for the elderly and other high-risk people in their community. They had the idea to create a mask that would be long lasting, sanitary and protect people as well as the N95 mask does.

Sehgal is a senior at Glenda Dawson High School and wants to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Karthik is a sophomore at Shadow Creek High School and would like to pursue a career in health sciences. His younger brother, Praneel, is in eighth grade and is planning to pursue a career in engineering.

“The Masketeers have used their skill and ingenuity to promote an endeavor with the potential to save lives, and their determination and  generosity have made them an inspiration to many folks in House District  29, including me,” Thompson said.
