A 21-mile recreational trail is moving forward as the City of Pearland joins efforts with Precinct One and the Houston Parks Board to develop a master plan.

According to the city’s website, the Clear Creek Trail Master Plan is in place to develop the recreational path from Pearland’s western border at Farm-to-Market Road 521 to the city's eastern border at Dixie Farm Road.

So far, 8.5 miles of the trail is accounted for via completion, construction, or proper funding. After its completion, 220,000 locals will enjoy 60 miles of trails in the area from parks and employment facilities to amenities and schools.

The master plan comes shortly after the city finished the Green Tee Terrance trail portion of the Clear Creek Trail. That trail included a 250-foot bridge for pedestrians that sits over Clear Creek. The next two phases are in the works to ink the Shadow Creek Sports Complex and Nature Trail with the Lower Kirby District, along with an additional bridge over Clear Creek.
