Houston Fire Department issued the following announcement.
House Fire in The East Houston Area
WHAT: House Fire
WHEN: January 21, 2020 at 9:54 a.m.
WHERE: 8400 block of Claiborne St, 77078
INJURIES: No reported injuries
PROPERTY SAVED: $105.2 thousand in estimated property saved
DAMAGE: 15.2 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke coming from the roof peak of a home and began an offensive attack. The origin of the fire was found in the garage and had already spread into the attack. After the fire was extinguished, the residents stated flames came out of the garage when they opened the door. Crews from Stations 41, 45, 43, 34, 56, 30 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
