On Friday, March 13, the St. Thomas Celts, featuring former Shadow Creek High School standout Chase Cain, secured a narrow 65-63 victory over the Washington Bears in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.

The contest tipped off at 7 p.m. at Jerabeck Athletic Center and marked the teams’ first tournament meeting.

The Celts advance to face their next opponent on Thursday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
