Oasis at Pearland was the second-largest nursing home in Brazoria County during the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The center reported 138 available beds, exceeding the county average by 22 beds as of the first quarter of 2026. The facility served an average of 87.5 residents over this time frame.

The CMS awarded Oasis at Pearland an overall rating of 1 out of 5, which falls below Texas’ nursing home average rating of 2.7.

The Colonnades at Reflection Bay was the largest nursing home in Brazoria County in the quarter, with 180 beds, while Country Village Care followed Oasis at Pearland with a total of 136 beds.

Oasis at Pearland reported $34,510 in fines and three penalties during the first quarter of 2026.

Brazoria County, Texas, had 11 for-profit nursing homes in total during this period.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that the nation’s older adult segment is expanding as the youth population shrinks. Between 2020 and 2024, the population ages 65 and up increased 13%, while those under 18 dropped by 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult population in the U.S. grew sharply, from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 analysis found that nearly half of those aged 65 and up—approximately 28 million Americans—may require some form of long-term care and services. It also projects that more than one-third in this group could eventually need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
