Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 11th Senate district, made several statements on March 13, 2026, regarding law enforcement and his stance as a potential Attorney General.

In a post published at 19:32 UTC, Middleton expressed gratitude toward local law enforcement. He wrote: “Thank you Sheriff Jones! I greatly appreciate all you do for Hunt County to keep Texans safe. I will always back law enforcement 100%. ‘As Hunt County Sheriff, I want someone as Attorney General who will be tough on crime and partner with local Sheriff’s to put dangerous'”.

Later that day at 20:05 UTC, Middleton posted a brief message stating: “Truth.”

At 21:15 UTC, he addressed concerns about religious schools and state funding. Middleton wrote: “Cut Islamification off at the root, it’s fundamentally incompatible with our Constitutional republic and as AG I’ll defend the Comptroller to make sure zero tax $ go to radical Islamic schools.”

Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor in representing Texas’ 11th Senate district after being elected in 2023.
