On March 7, Middleton congratulated Eric Flores on his congressional victory. He wrote: “Thank you Eric! Congratulations on your huge congressional victory! @EricDFloress https://t.co/Gq1a5xpSJG”.
Later that day, Middleton addressed Representative Patterson regarding their efforts related to school library content. He stated: “Thank you Representative Patterson. Enjoyed working with you to stop obscene books in school libraries. Early on, you uncovered books that had no place in our schools and didn’t back down.

Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as senator for Texas’s 11th district after winning election in 2023.
