Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 representing the 11th district, has recently posted several statements on social media regarding Texas politics and his ongoing campaign efforts.
On July 31, 2025, Middleton declared his intent to support a redistricting map favoring Republicans. He wrote, “I will fight to pass the map that adds up to 5 Republican Congressional seats in Texas These 5 seats could be the margin to give Republicans control of Congress in 2027, and Texas has the chance to save America and help pass @realDonaldTrump’s AMERICA FIRST AGENDA!”
Later that same day, Middleton addressed House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) in another post. He stated, “Memo to Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York): All voters in Texas already have the ability to “choose their voters.” They haven’t chosen a Democrat statewide in 31 YEARS.” The message references the longstanding trend of Republican victories in statewide elections within Texas.
On August 1, 2025, Middleton shared news about an endorsement from Chris Spencer. He posted, “Honored to have the endorsement of Northeast Texas conservative leader Chris Spencer! We’re building STRONG momentum across every corner of Texas. Chris knows I’m the PROVEN, bold conservative, a proud supporter of President Trump, and a relentless fighter for Texas values —”
Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as state senator for District 11 after being elected in 2023. His recent public statements highlight both his commitment to increasing Republican representation at the federal level and his alignment with former President Donald Trump’s political agenda.
