Mayes Middleton, a Republican and Texas State Senator representing the 11th Senate district since 2023, recently posted several statements on his Twitter account regarding state policy, college athletics, and local political shifts.
On October 4, 2025, Middleton highlighted his role in legislative efforts to restrict foreign ownership of Texas land and infrastructure. He quoted: “Mayes Middleton fought alongside me when I was fighting to pass the strongest ban in the nation to prevent China and North Korea from buying Texas land and critical infrastructure. He helped me fight off attempts to weaken the bill and I trust he’d stand strong as our next https://t.co/9NEm9ubr2R”.
Later that day, on October 4, 2025, Middleton criticized the NCAA’s handling of women’s sports in another post: “The NCAA is a joke, they couldn’t even protect women’s sports so we had to do it for them in Texas. 90+% of their revenue is March Madness, no wonder college sports overall has suffered. Time for a change. https://t.co/86H6peHTrp”.
On October 6, 2025, Middleton commented on political changes in Jefferson County: “Brandon Willis is a strong conservative and proven leader in Jefferson County. This important county flipped from blue to red in recent years — a great example of how Texas is becoming more free and prosperous. I’ll keep working to earn support across Jefferson County, and I’m https://t.co/JQgiF5wwiM”.
Middleton was elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 after replacing Larry Taylor as representative for District 11.
