Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 to represent the 11th Senate district, recently shared updates on his activities and legislative priorities through several posts on social media.
On December 7, 2025, Middleton expressed appreciation for his visit to Tyler and Longview. He wrote, “Tyler and Longview. It felt like home visiting Tyler and Longview, all my in-laws live in Tyler and East Texas values are truly Texas values. Thank you Rep. Matt Schaefer for introducing me at the Tyler event and your endorsement in my race, and Rep. Cole Hefner and Rep.”
The following day, December 8, Middleton highlighted his legislative efforts regarding religious expression in schools. He stated, “I’m fighting the atheists and winning.  This session I authored and passed the law to restore prayer in schools and championed the Ten Commandments law, returning them to the walls of Texas classrooms. Now I’m fighting to defend those laws.  Last week I submitted an amicus brief”.
On December 9, Middleton acknowledged support for efforts aimed at protecting children from inappropriate content. He posted, “Huge win for protecting kids from obscene materials, thank you Bonnie Wallace!”
Middleton began serving as state senator after being elected in 2023 to succeed Larry Taylor as representative of Texas’ 11th Senate district.
