Mayes Middleton, a Republican who was elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 11th Senate district, recently used his social media platform to highlight endorsements and campaign positions in the ongoing Texas Attorney General runoff.
On May 7, Middleton posted his thanks to the Young Republicans of Texas, stating, “Thank you Young Republicans of Texas! I’m fighting everyday to stop Sharia Law and Muslim enclaves, protecting Texas values, and ending all benefits to illegal immigrants. I’m the only candidate in this race who stands with Trump and has a record of advancing conservative” (May 7, 2026).
Later that day, Middleton acknowledged local support from law enforcement in Hill County. He wrote, “Sheriff Barnes, it was great to meet you, and I am honored to earn your support. Look forward to working with you to protect Hill County and keep all Texans safe. ‘I appreciate that Mayes Middleton took the time to come to Hill County to meet with me and local citizens. That'” (May 7, 2026).
On May 8, Middleton announced an endorsement from Congressman Troy Nehls. In his tweet he said: “Great news to earn the endorsement of Congressman Troy Nehls, a true MAGA champion and trusted Trump ally. He’s tough on crime and a tireless advocate of putting America First. Thanks Troy! ‘Let’s be absolutely clear about the differences in the Texas AG runoff. Mayes'” (May 8, 2026).
Middleton replaced former state senator Larry Taylor when he assumed office for Texas’s 11th Senate district in early 2023.
