Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 representing the 11th district, has recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from redistricting to antisemitism in Texas schools.
On August 23, 2025, Middleton praised a speech by @ElectAHinojosa and criticized Democratic opposition to a new redistricting map. He wrote, “Amazing speech by @ElectAHinojosa. We are all sick and tired of Democrats lies calling this redistricting map racist. This map is America First. This map ensures our conservative values in Texas are represented.”
Later that day, Middleton commented on the passage of the redistricting bill in the state legislature. He stated, “After midnight, I cast my vote to send The Big Beautiful Map to the Governor! Democrats tried a last-minute campaign-style filibuster and a fundraising stunt to block it—several even screamed to disrupt the vote and had to be ejected from the Senate gallery. But they failed.”
In another post on August 23, Middleton addressed incidents of antisemitism within Plano ISD. He wrote, “I stand with the Jewish families and students against antisemitism in Plano ISD. I have zero tolerance and Texas has zero tolerance for antisemitism, I expect swift action by Plano ISD to make sure this never happens again. However, ending public comment on non-agenda items is”
Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as state senator for Texas’s 11th district after being elected in 2023.
