Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected in 2023 to represent Texas’s 11th Senate district, has posted several statements on his social media account regarding recent political developments. The posts focus on legal cases involving former President Trump, legislative measures against absentee lawmakers, and redistricting efforts in Texas.
On August 21, 2025, Middleton commented on the outcome of a legal case in New York involving former President Trump. He wrote: “VICTORY for President Trump! The corrupt $500 MILLION sham case just COLLAPSED in New York. This is exactly what happens when the radical left uses courts as weapons of war — they get exposed. President Trump has been right all along: it’s LAWFARE, not justice. As Attorney”.
Later that day, Middleton addressed legislative accountability and thanked Texas Governor Greg Abbott for actions taken during a special session. In his post dated August 21, 2025, he stated: “Thank you @GregAbbott_TX for adding penalties for runaway Democrats to the Special Session. If you don’t show up to work, you get fired — it’s that simple. I authored SB 48 to remove legislators who don’t show up for 7 days or more! Texans deserve leaders who do their jobs. Let’s”.
On August 22, 2025, Middleton highlighted ongoing efforts within the Texas Senate regarding redistricting and support for former President Trump’s agenda: “TODAY: The Texas Senate is on the verge of passing the Big Beautiful Map! I’ve been fighting nonstop to deliver President Trump five new Republican seats to power the America First agenda. Democrats can block and whine all they want—we’ll keep winning. Let’s finish this!”.
Middleton assumed office after replacing Larry Taylor as state senator for District 11 following his election in 2023.
