Mayes Middleton, a Republican and Texas State Senator representing the 11th Senate district since 2023, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from immigration enforcement to public health initiatives.
On April 16, 2026, Middleton expressed support for federal immigration enforcement efforts, stating: “Good, zero tolerance for any local government that gets in the way of ICE and President Trump’s deportation agenda.”
Later that day, Middleton commented on law enforcement policy and legislative action. He wrote: “ICYMI: Yesterday, the Texas Fraternal Order of Police made clear: Chip Roy killed the Protect and Serve Act, crafted to go after rogue DAs who won’t prosecute criminals who violently attack police officers. As Attorney General, I will support law enforcement with action – not” (April 16, 2026).
The following day, Middleton highlighted his role in advancing public health legislation in Texas. He stated: “Ending taxpayer funded soda was a tough fight, proud to author this law to help make Texas healthy again.” (April 17, 2026).
Middleton was elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 after replacing former senator Larry Taylor. His recent posts reflect ongoing debates within Texas regarding state cooperation with federal immigration authorities and policies affecting law enforcement accountability and public health.
