Mayes Middleton, a Republican and Texas State Senator representing the 11th district since 2023, has recently posted several statements on his social media account regarding his campaign for Texas Attorney General and ongoing political issues.
On May 6, 2026, Middleton shared the results of a reader poll, stating: “ICYMI: 59% of Texas Minute readers said they’re voting for me for Texas Attorney General. Texans deserves an AG who stands with President Trump and who has a record of actually advancing conservative priorities. Early voting starts Monday, May 18. @TexasScorecard”.
The following day, May 7, Middleton addressed recent developments concerning the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), writing: “Huge win in the fight to defeat sharia and Islamification. CAIR will have to tell us who funds them, so Texas can go after the source and shut them down. Thank you @GregAbbott_TX. As AG, I’ll fight to make sure every last one of these radical Muslim groups is shut down and”.
Shortly after that post on May 7, he followed up with another message: “Winning”.
Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as state senator in 2023 after being elected to represent Texas’s 11th Senate district.
