Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 representing the 11th district, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing education policy and local government taxation.
On September 22, 2025, Middleton posted a statement regarding teacher conduct and accountability: “ZERO TOLERANCE, cheer Charlie Kirk’s murder and you’re fired. I will fight to make sure our No Passing the Trash registries are enforced and teachers cheering murder never see the classroom again.”
The following day, on September 23, 2025, Middleton addressed local government tax policies by referencing other officials: “Every local government needs to follow @TimothyOHare @MattKrauseTX @MannyRamirez_TX pro-taxpayer lead. Anything above the no-new-revenue rate is a tax increase!”
Later that same day, Middleton shared an endorsement from Rep. Brent Money: “Rep. Brent Money: “Mayes has been rock solid amongst a lot of pressure—the kind of pressure that you don’t know if you can stand up to until you actually do it. It’s easy to get up on the campaign stump, talk a tough game, and talk about fighting. But until you’ve actually been”
Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as state senator for Texas’s 11th district after being elected in 2023.
