Mayes Middleton, Texas State Senator representing the 11th district and a Republican elected in 2023, posted several statements on his Twitter account addressing cultural and political issues between February 15 and February 16, 2026.
On February 15, Middleton questioned the editorial stance of a state news outlet by posting: “Does the Texas Tribune still think men should be in girls’ restrooms or sports? Ask Kamala how that worked out for her. https://t.co/w4u0Lqh9hS”.
The following day, he marked Presidents’ Day with praise for former President Donald Trump. On February 16 he wrote: “On this Presidents’ Day, we honor President Trump. Undeniably the greatest president of our lifetime. Thank you President Trump for putting America First. https://t.co/Qg1GII5lPm”.
Later on February 16, Middleton referenced legislative efforts to limit public expenditures on certain food purchases, stating: “No more taxpayer funded junk food, I’m proud to have changed the law to make this happen. This will save taxpayers $ billions and help eliminate waste, fraud and abuse. https://t.co/iG61HfPQHf”.
Middleton was elected to his current position after succeeding Larry Taylor as senator for Texas’s 11th Senate district in 2023.
