Mayes Middleton, a Texas State Senator representing the 11th Senate district, has recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing issues of religious liberty, gender policies, and journalism mentorship.
On December 10, 2025, Middleton commented on proceedings at a national commission: “Incredible witness and testimony today at @POTUS ‘s Religious Liberty Commission chaired by @DanPatrick . This is the forefront of the great revival America is in, we are a nation and state built on In God We Trust.”
Two days later, Middleton addressed gender policy debates with another post dated December 12, 2025: “I’m defeating the woke left’s radical gender ideology. No men in women’s private spaces.”
On the same day, he also acknowledged contributions to journalism: “Congratulations on a great run at @TheTexanNews. We need you mentoring the next group of young journalists.”
Middleton was elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 as a Republican and succeeded Larry Taylor as representative for the state’s 11th Senate district.
