Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 representing the state’s 11th district, posted several statements on social media between December 13 and December 15, 2025, addressing national events and expressing condolences for recent tragedies.

On December 13, Middleton extended congratulations to the U.S. Navy with the message: “Congratulations to Navy. ️”

The following day, Middleton commented on an act of violence, stating: “This was a heinous act terrorism and mass murder by radical Islamic terrorists. Please pray for Rabbi Lazaroff (a Texan) and the other victims.” This post referenced an incident involving Rabbi Lazaroff and called for prayers for all affected.

On December 15, he addressed another loss of life with the statement: “Sad to see another bright young life taken by a radical leftist. Please pray for her family and loved ones. “

Middleton has represented Texas’s 11th Senate district since his election in 2023, succeeding Larry Taylor as state senator.
