Mayes Middleton, a Republican elected to the Texas State Senate in 2023 to represent the state’s 11th Senate district, posted a series of comments on his Twitter account between December 30, 2025, and January 1, 2026. The tweets addressed issues ranging from media conduct and transgender policies to collegiate sports.
On December 30, 2025, Middleton questioned the actions of a journalist by stating: “A Politico reporter encouraging Somali fraudsters to shoot actual journalists? https://t.co/GQdxDvpp48”.
The following day, December 31, he commented on public restroom access policies and expressed support for Michelle Evans, writing: “.@ThinkerMichelle told the truth and stood for common sense—no men in women’s restrooms. The woke mind virus is seeking to punish her over this and another reason I passed the law to make it illegal for perverted men to enter women’s private spaces. Let’s go win this fight for https://t.co/A65gb8vuVu”.
On January 1, 2026, Middleton shifted focus to college athletics with a message about Texas Tech University: “We got to witness a phenomenal season by the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Heads up high Red Raider Nation. ️”.
Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor as state senator for Texas’s 11th district after being elected in 2023.
