On September 1, 2025, Middleton posted a congratulatory message about a new appointment in Texas higher education. In another post dated September 2, 2025, Middleton highlighted recent legislative action regarding immigration enforcement in Texas. He stated, “Texas passed one of the strongest anti-illegal immigrant laws in the nation last session, which allows for the arrest of illegal immigrants and returns them to the border. I co-authored this law and will fight to enforce it as AG. Texas has an absolute constitutional right to https://t.co/QXLCqSJIqt”.
Later that same day, Middleton commented on ongoing efforts related to government spending and state agencies. He wrote, “We’re on the one-yard line to defund the Deep State and end the “USAID of Texas.” Now is the moment.

Middleton replaced former state senator Larry Taylor after winning election to represent Texas’s 11th Senate district in 2023.
