Mayes Middleton, a Republican member of the Texas State Senate representing the 11th district since 2023, recently posted several statements on his social media account addressing issues ranging from security to legislative achievements and endorsements.
On March 15, 2026, Middleton wrote: “LTC Brandon Shah was a hero and died stopping an Islamic terrorist.”
The following day, March 16, he highlighted changes in state law regarding public spending: “This is a show me don’t tell me business. It was a tough fight, but I got this change in the law done. Billions in tax $ will no longer be wasted on soda and candy, taxpayer funded junk food turns into taxpayer funded healthcare.”
Later that same day, Middleton expressed gratitude for political support from another Texas legislator: “Thank you Representative Schatzline! Thank you for your strong endorsement, and for your bold defense of our Christian conservative values. ‘Senator Mayes Middleton has a proven track record of fighting for Faith, Family, & Freedom in the state of Texas. He’s a faithful husband'”
Middleton assumed office in the Texas State Senate after being elected in 2023 to represent District 11. He succeeded Larry Taylor as senator.
