Mayes Middleton, a Republican who has represented Texas’s 11th Senate district since 2023, recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from foreign land ownership in Texas to local government accountability and state-level anti-corruption efforts.

On August 6, 2025, Middleton posted criticism of another politician’s stance on foreign land purchases: “Gene Wu has been fighting to put China first and Texas second — even working to allow communist China buy our land out from under us in Texas. If he wants a refresher course on Marxism, I’m sure the CCP will take him back. I’ll keep defending the Big Beautiful Map. No https://t.co/dRtQYpcvpJ”.

The following day, August 7, 2025, Middleton highlighted legislative changes regarding the removal of county judges: “Great time to look at Local Government Code Section 87… I changed the law this session to make it easier to remove incompetent county judges from office! HB 2715 https://t.co/igZfo1O9lX”.

On August 8, 2025, Middleton announced intentions for an anti-corruption initiative if elected as Texas Attorney General: “As Texas Attorney General, I’ll start an anti-corruption division that investigates politicians profiting off their position and ripping off taxpayers through waste, fraud, and abuse. On day 1, I will start with the completely unethical and mentally unfit lunatic Lina Hidalgo.”

Middleton succeeded Larry Taylor in the Texas State Senate after being elected in 2023. As a member of the Republican Party representing District 11, he has focused on legislative priorities including government transparency and state sovereignty.
