Former Glenda Dawson High School standout Makenzie Wright contributed to her college team, the Lamar Lady Cardinals, as they secured a 10-5 victory over the Sam Houston State Bearkats in NCAA Division I softball at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 3.

Lamar Softball Complex served as the venue for the matchup, marking the second contest against the Bearkats this season. The Lady Cardinals previously defeated Sam Houston State 9-4 on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Wright finished the game with two hits in three plate appearances.

Looking ahead, the Lady Cardinals are set to play their next game Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond, where they will take on the McNeese State Cowgirls.
