Dennis Paul, a Republican member of the Texas State House representing the 129th district since 2015, has recently shared updates on legislative initiatives and community engagement via social media.
On August 1, 2025, Paul announced the re-filing of House Bill 253, stating: “Today I filed HB 253 for the third time—because flood control is a life-or-death issue. This bill: • Reforms the Harris Co. Flood Control District by creating a new board with both Gov & County appointees • Allows regional expansion w/ local approval”. The following day, he reiterated his position on bipartisan cooperation in addressing flooding issues, posting: “Flooding doesn’t stop at political lines. HB 253 brings the accountability and cooperation we need. #txlege”.
In another update posted on August 3, Paul reflected on his attendance at a veteran-focused event and acknowledged recent legislative achievements for Texas veterans: “I had a wonderful time at tonight’s annual Combat Marine Outdoors Gala! Thank you @GregAbbott_TX for having me out and for signing HB 114, SB 1814, and SB 1818 into law. Supporting our Texas veterans and ensuring they receive the care and opportunities they deserve is essential.”
Paul was elected to represent Texas’s 129th House district in 2015 after succeeding John E. Davis.
